There are various symptoms associated with anorexia nervosa, however some patients
may try to hide their condition from others making detection difficult. Typical
warning signs to look out for in a patient include:
Extreme weight loss
Abnormal fear of gaining weight.
Excessive exercise.
Undergoes frequent weight checks.
Unexplained skipping of meals.
Wears baggy clothes to hide thin figure.
Avoids social gatherings where meals are going to be served.
Amenorrhoea (missing of three consecutive menstrual cycles) in females.
